Introduction
This document contains general information on the design of this website and
ways to navigate around the site to obtain the information you are looking
for. The details given here are an initial draft, and will be enhanced as
the site is further developed.
Site Design
The site has been initially designed around a simple hierarchical structure
beneath a number of buttons on the home page. Within this structure sections
are linked and cross linked by standard hyperlinks. This will allow changes
to be implemented easily in the initial stages. It is intended that the site
will be dynamic and the style and design will evolve, and be maintained by
local people.
Home Page
The site Home Page has been initially set up with access to the major
sections by clicking on one of twelve buttons. An initial small poll
suggested that this was the most appropriate approach for a small village
site.
If you wish to return to the home page from within the site, simple click on
the village pond logo located on the top right of the page header.
Major Buttons
The names on the twelve major buttons give an indication of the information
under that button, but addition topics may be included, where this is
appropriate, in order to simplify the home page design. In many cases there
may be links across from one button, to information under another button,
where there are obvious connections, and in order to reduce duplication.
Minor Buttons
The smaller buttons at the bottom of the home page simply aide navigation of
the site and allow you to communicate with us in the village.
Site Map
The Site Map is simply a linear method of accessing the information in the
site. It acts like the contents page of a book, with entries most sections
in the site, where you can link directly to those pages.
